The team and management at Beach FM – as your official local Emergency and Civil Defence radio station – are committed to supporting the communities of Horowhenua and the Kapiti Coast, as the impact of Covid-19 continues to escalate.

To contribute to the community efforts, we encourage groups and businesses to send us information and updates, so we can broadcast these important messages and notices. You can email us at or phone on (04) 296 1400.

Because of Ministry of Health advice to practice social distancing, the Beach FM offices will be closed to the public from the 23rd of March - we will conduct interviews by telephone and will continue to provide regular local news and updates.

At this time, it's vitally important to support local businesses, so we will work closely with our sponsors and advertisers to ensure there is no interruption to their promotions.

If the Alert System escalates to Level 3, Beach FM already has advanced plans for announcers to broadcast from home, and for other staff to work remotely. Beach FM will continue to broadcast and serve our communities, during this health crisis.

We join our civic leaders in urging calm. It’s important we all heed advice from the health authorities, and that we look out for one another, be patient and kind, and do the right things to protect ourselves, our whanau and our communities.
