It has been well tested by the elements but the Breast Cancer Foundation’s Pink Caravan has dodged an earthquake and a cyclone to be in Levin this week.
Breastcare nurses Trish Sole and Gillian Mockford are outside Levin New World today (THURS 19) from 9am to 4pm.
Ms Mockford says they are looking forward to hosting anyone who wants to know more about breast health. She says they have lots of information people can take away.
Ms Sole says women are often surprised to learn what a lump actually feels like. She says they can be a bit tricky to find and there is Bessie, the Foundation’s life-like torso to demonstrate techniques on.
About 120 people in the MidCentral DHB area are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and about 20 die of breast cancer each year so early checks are advised.
