Re-establishing the Lindale Market will take perseverance after its first day back yesterday.
A late plan change to the afternoon caught many unaware and crowds were less than anticipated but stallholders made the most of the fine weather and visitors gave plenty of positive feedback.
Kevin Jones, who co-manages the Lindale market as well as the very successful Saturday Market at Paraparaumu Beach with Warwick Halcrow, says this is just the beginning so they will spend some time talking with stallholders and getting feedback. He says the market may not be ready to be a weekly event yet but it certainly has potential.
In its hay day The Lindale Market was one of the biggest farmers markets in the region.
One very popular feature was the pedal powered slot car racing from Race Entertainment which is all about having fun and getting fit at the same time.
The shops at Lindale also reported a benefit from having the market day and organisers will confirm if there is to be another before Christmas.
