Owners of the Kapiti Coast Airport Todd Property expect to update the community about the continuation of a Paraparaumu to Auckland service within two weeks.
Managing Director of Todd Property Evan Davies says Kapiti Coast District Council and Air Chathams are in discussions and that they’re pleased with the progress to date.
Mr Davies says Air Chathams’ aircraft are different to those that have previously operated commercially from the airport, so technical and regulatory requirements are being carefully considered.
He says information is currently being exchanged between the various parties and hopes this work will be completed as soon as possible, allowing them to move forward and determine any commercial arrangements.
Mr Davies says “we understand the community is eager for information about the continuation of airline services from Kapiti to Auckland, and we hope to be able to provide another update within two weeks.”
