Waterfall Road Could Open May

April 5, 2018

Waterfall Road could be open sooner than expected, as early as next month.

Although there is still 1200 truckloads of material to cart off site, the Kapiti Coast District Council is reporting that work is going well and the road may be open to traffic and pedestrians in May.

A co-funded works program between NZ Transport Agency and the Kapiti Coast District Council is currently underway to fix the slip that closed the road early September last year.

Waterfall Road is the designated detour route if State Highway 1 is closed between Mackays Crossing and Poplar Avenue.

There is currently no alternative route available.
