Former Horowhenua Mayor Brendan Duffy has been appointed Chair of the Kapiti-Horowhenua Business Awards.
Mr Duffy, who is a previous supreme winner of the awards with his business Canvasland, takes over from Mark Ternent who has been at helm for six years.
Mr Duffy says it is a real privilege to be elected to Chair of such a respected and long-standing organisation.
He says "Business Kapiti Horowhenua is supported by Electra and both our district councils, and our collective interest is to support business growth and salute success, all factors I’m excited to support. "
During Mr Ternent’s term as Chair the awards has undergone a major transformation, with several new Award categories introduced, including the hugely popular Customer Choice Awards.
Business Kapiti Horowhenua also runs the Kapiti-Horowhenua Business Hall of Fame.
While stepping down as chair, Mr Ternet will remain on the Board.
