Board Hopeful Market Will Stay

April 9, 2018

The Paraparaumu/Raumati Community Board is hopeful that the Kāpiti Coast District Council will support relocating the Paraparaumu Beach Market to Maclean Street.

Board chair Johnny Best told Beach FM that he didn’t think there would an objection from the Council to the move.

But, he says, “obviously there’s all the regulatory requirements and traffic management plans that would need to be sorted out”.

He says, hopefully the council can make that process as easy as possible for the market organisers.

The Paraparaumu Beach Market - which has been operating for 18 years on the beach - will need to move later this year to accommodate a boutique hotel and apartment development.
