An access agreement between Kapiti College, Ministry of Education and the Kāpiti Coast
District Council is due to be confirmed by college representatives and the Kāpiti Mayor today.
The agreement provides for a number of days each year when the centre will be available for community use, while still allowing for it to function as a College facility.
Mayor Gurunathan says this partnership has given Council the opportunity to get behind a project to make it a fantastic hub for our community’s performing artists.
He says the College came to us with strong support from our choirs, orchestras and dance
organisations who all said they needed a facility like this, and we were convinced that this would truly be a community asset.
The College is still busy fundraising its share, with a ‘Kiwi Legends’ event planned for late June, seat sponsorship and give a little campaigns.
Signing of the agreement will take place, onsite at Kapiti College on Raumati Road at 3.30pm.
If wet it will move to the College library.
