Auditor-General Ruling on HDC

June 18, 2018

The Office of the Auditor-General has ruled in favor of Horowhenua District Council’s decision to sell pensioner housing for $5.5 million.

Complaints by the opponents of the sale saying this was a cheap deal for 115 housing units were dismissed.

Community well being committee chairman Barry Judd says the ruling has saved the council $4.3 million on replacement costs.

He says the right outcome has been achieved and it is time to move on.
