Air Chathams Confirmed for Kapiti

July 2, 2018

MP for Otaki Nathan Guy says it’s great news that Air Chathams has confirmed it will be taking over the Kapiti to Auckland flight service.

He says it’s exciting to get the service back up and running after all the disruption that was caused by Air NZ pulling the service with only three weeks’ notice.

Mr Guy says he’s worked hard to ensure that the flights are retained by hosting a series of meetings with the key players to help come to this agreement and his petition to save the flights gained over 8000 signatures and clearly showed the public support for the service.

He says Air Chathams have realised that Kapiti Airport offers them another strategic location with a large population reaching from Porirua to Levin.
