Air Chathams CEO Duanne Emeny remains positive that his airline can achieve the 70% loading for the 36 weekly flights from Kapiti Coast Airport announced on Monday.
This amounts to 1,152 seats. Speaking on Beach FM yesterday Mr Emeny says their initial load modelling is based on figures from their Wanganui service and based on community support he’s seen from other centres he says there’s no real reason why the Kapiti service could not be even better.
He says with major roading infrastructure projects coming online it’s going to make it much easier for Poriua and Levin residents to make the journey to Kapiti for their regional flights.
Ultimately Mr Emeny says the success of the Air Chathams venture from Kapiti will be based around engagement with the local community, good service and fair pricing.
