Levin Expressway Update Soon

September 5, 2018

Horowhenua Mayor Michael Feyen is expecting to know more about the future of the Otaki to north of Levin expressway, by the end of this month.

Mayor Feyen told Beach FM this morning that he’s been keeping the pressure up on the New Zealand Transport Agency about the project.

The future of the expressway has been up in the air since NZTA had to re-evaluate it to align with the Government’s Policy Statement on land transport, released earlier in the year.

The review created further uncertainty for land and home owners that might be affected.

Mayor Feyen says he was advised at a meeting with the NZTA in Palmerston North yesterday, that more news would be known by the end of the month.

“I think that will make a lot of people either happier or know what they’re in for, once we get some news from them in terms of what the Government’s really thinking,” he says.
