Horowhenua Building Consents Hits $100 Million Record

July 13, 2019

For the first time in the Horowhenua District Council’s history, the total value of building consents issued in a financial year has passed the $100 million mark.

By the end of June 2019, Council had issued almost $114 million worth of building consents.

The previous record was in 2017/18, when the total value of building consents was $97 million.

Council Chief Executive David Clapperton says the value of building consents has been growing year-on-year.

He says:“This demonstrates the growth that is occurring in the district, as more people move to Horowhenua to enjoy the economic and lifestyle benefits the district offers.

Mr Clapperton is proud of the high level of service the Council has been able to deliver for customers, despite processing more building consents than ever before.
