KCDC Not Maximising Opportunities

July 12, 2019

The Kāpiti Coast Chamber of Commerce says the Independent Review of the Kāpiti council needs to address their current ‘Open for Business’ policy.

Chamber Chair Heather Hutchings welcomes the proposed Independent Review of the KāpitiCoast District Council but says it must address local resources and how to deliver the best and most cost-effective outcomes for Kāpiti ratepayers and businesses, as well the council’s Current‘Open for Business’ policy.

The chamber wants to see a culture established within KCDC which encourages and works alongside businesses to help them achieve growth for themselves and the region.

Hutchings says even with all of the potential that comes from unprecedented opportunities for growth in the district, the Chamber is concerned these opportunities aren't being maximised by KCDC.

She says the decisions made now will have a decades-long impact on the district, which is why the Chamber is supporting an Independent Review of KCDC.
