The Numbers

Beach FM has been entertaining and informing communities on the Kapiti Coast and Horowhenua for 20 years.  The most successful commercial radio station in the region.  Our success comes down to knowing our communities - we're proudly locals talking to locals.

Our audience is the loyal 35+ audience, the family decision makers and most affluent group in the region.

The Kapiti Coast (pop. 49,104) and Horowhenua (pop. 30,909) are two of the fastest growing regions in the country.  Outdoing the Wellington region in terms of population growth, economic development and rising property prices.  With major infrastructures project like Transmission Gully, expressways and Air Chathams running daily flights to Auckland, the region's growth will be further enhanced.

Our Audience

Proportionately the Kapiti Coast and Horowhenua has one of the highest number of retirees in the country.  The 35+ age group makes up more than 60% of the regional population, bucking the trend elsewhere in New Zealand.

Multiple Engagement Points

Beach FM is non surveyed radio station but our advertisters and engagement with listeners confirms our reach by on air and online.  With radio as the foundation, we use multiple platforms to reach our audience, keeping them informed about the best our local retailers and service people have to offer.

Beach FM has a very active Facebook Page, for the first 6 months of this year, the numbers were:

  • Impressions (total count) - 2.9 million (16,143 daily)

  • Total Reach (unique users) - 708,000 (3,873 daily)
